Lattelecom also provides data transmission and IT infrastructure solutions, Internet and contact centre services, as well as outsourced business process services.
The Lattelecom works in a dynamic environment and its work is oriented toward development, trustworthiness and professionalism. These are the values that allow us to be a step ahead of today, to take responsibility for what we have accomplished and to offer the most appropriate solution for client needs.

Latvian Open Technology Association (LATA) unites organisations and individuals, including information technology providers and users who consider that they, their organisations and the whole society will economically benefit from broader use of open source solutions in Latvia. Applying open standards to information exchange and storage is necessary provision for free competition in the market of IT solutions between commercial and open source software.

LATA members and associated members are minded to altogether contribute to make the environment favourable for those Latvian IT users and providers who use open source software, programming tools and components thus promoting economy of resources expendable on IT matters and returning them to Latvia’s national economy.

LATA’s goals:

  • Promote general public’s understanding of open source solutions, their functions and applications, the possibilities for user training in Latvia and developing open source based commercial solutions that can be offered at Latvia’s market.
  • Promote adoption of internationally approved information exchange and storage standards and their mandatory usage by public and municipal authorities for information exchange and services in electronic form to individuals, private companies and organizations.
  • Promote practical availability of open source solutions to Latvian IT users ensuring localisation and improving user support infrastructure on basis of Latvian IT companies.

Lecturers: Gints Miķelsons (Lattelecom)

Gints Mikelsons, Director of business client department, Lattelecom. Gints is responsible for the sector of small and medium enterprises, strategy planning, management if clients segmentation, preparation of offers, service innovation, selling strategy, as well as management of processes related to customer service.

Gints has carried out various R&D projects related to Lattelecom products (sercurity VON Radio DSL, WiFi), as well as international business development projects (BalticNet) with telecommunication partners in Latvia, Germany, Lithuania, Estonia adn Scandinavia.
